Editorial Policy

Kibra News Network reports in the public interest. These are the standards we hold ourselves to.

01

Accuracy

We verify before we publish. Facts, names, numbers and quotes are checked against original sources, and every story carries a source attribution at the end. Where a story is still developing, we say so.

02

Independence

Our reporting is not for sale. Advertisers, politicians and funders have no say in what we cover or how we cover it.

03

Sponsored content

Any content paid for by a third party is clearly labelled “Sponsored” and is written or reviewed separately from our newsroom.

04

Fairness and the right of reply

Anyone facing significant criticism in a KNN story is given a fair opportunity to respond before publication, and their response is included.

05

Sources and safety

We protect confidential sources. We take particular care with stories involving children, survivors of violence and gender-based violence, and we signpost support services where relevant.

06

Corrections

We correct errors quickly and openly. See our Corrections page.
