From Kibera Saints to CAF football: Chris Erambo’s goal sends Tusker through.
Chrispine "Chris" Erambo scored the only goal as Tusker beat Sudan's Al Ahli Wad Madani 1-0 at Nyayo Stadium last week, going through 3-2 on aggregate to the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup. Tusker now face Singida Black Stars of Tanzania.
Erambo, 21, started in Division Two with Kibera Saints. He joined National Super League side Mombasa Elite in 2021 and signed for Tusker in September 2023 after a trial the previous month, telling Pulse Sports he was relishing the challenge of the top flight.
National team
He got his first Harambee Stars call-up at 19, for the Four Nations tournament in Malawi in March 2024. He played three games at the African Nations Championship co-hosted by Kenya in August 2025, and was sent off against Morocco. Each Stars player earned more than Sh5 million from that tournament; Erambo spent part of his on food donations at Mathare Kids Hub.
After the Al Ahli goal he told The Star he is dreaming of more than the second round.
The Kibera Saints detail comes from his 2023 interview with Pulse Sports, which described the club as a Division Two side. KNN has not found a more recent record of the club.
