Security and the rains
Before the show, Nairobi Deputy County Commissioner for Kibra Victor Kamonde said security teams were "ready for the show". ASK chairman Levi Mukhweso said the society was "about 99 per cent prepared". The Star reported that drains and water channels at the showground had been inspected and cleared ahead of the El Niño rains.
What it means for you
Expect heavier traffic on Ngong Road and on the Woodley side of the park all week, especially in the afternoons and at the weekend.
The reports KNN reviewed do not give the show's opening hours, or say which day the official opening is. Check with ASK before making a long trip.
Taking the children? Carry water and a hat; the park has long walks between the stands.
