KCSE starts 19 October and KPSEA on 26 October: the exam dates Kibra families need.
The national exams are less than four weeks away. Here are the dates set by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC), so candidates and parents can plan.
KCSE (Form Four)
19 October: KCSE begins with orals and practicals.
21 to 26 October: practicals for Home Science, Art and Design, Building Construction, Electricity and French.
2 November: written papers begin.
20 November: the last paper.
KPSEA (Grade 6)
23 October: rehearsal day.
26 to 28 October: the assessment. The first paper each day starts at 8.30am.
Tips for candidates
Get the full timetable from your school or knec.ac.ke and mark every paper you are sitting.
Arrive early. KNEC rules say a candidate who comes late must give the supervisor a good reason, and no extra time is given.
Leave your phone at home. Phones are not allowed in the exam room.
Plan your route. Heavy El Niño rain is expected from mid-October, so agree with your family how you will get to school if roads flood (KNN's El Niño guide).
For other deadlines coming up, see KNN's key dates for Kibra families.
