A warning about fake Kenya Power messages
Kenya Power said last week that its customer care account on X was hacked on 30 September and used to post cryptocurrency links before the company regained control. It reminded customers that it never asks for PINs, bank details or M-Pesa details. If a message asks you for those, it is not Kenya Power.
What it means for you
- If the lights go off in Kibra this week, it is a fault, not planned work. Report it by dialling *977# or calling 97771.
- If you work or study in one of the listed areas, plan around the hours given.
- Planned cuts sometimes end earlier or later than the time given.
