Kenya Power’s planned maintenance notice for the coming week does not list Kibera, Lang’ata, Woodley, Ngong Road, Dagoretti, Kilimani, Karen or Nairobi West. It is the second week in a row with no planned interruption in Kibra.

The notice covers Saturday 10 to Friday 16 October and 13 counties. In the Nairobi region the work is in the north and east of the city, and in Ngong, Matasia and Oloolua across the Kajiado border. Cuts run from 9am to 5pm unless another time is shown.

Friday 16 October

  • Part of Pangani: Forest Road, Chai Road, Agoi Road and Pamba Road.

The notice stops on Friday. Any work planned for the weekend of 17 and 18 October would come in a later notice. The same notice listed a cut along Mombasa Road on Sunday 11 October, from 8am to 5pm.

What it means for you

  • If you live in Kibra, there is no scheduled cut to plan around this week. Faults can still happen, and the rains make them more likely.
  • If you work, study or have a clinic appointment in Westlands, Parklands, Ngara, Pangani or Kasarani, check your day above and charge your phone the night before.
  • If you commute from Ngong, Kibiko, Matasia or Oloolua, power is off on your side on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, depending on the area.
  • To report an outage that is not on this list, call Kenya Power on 97771 or dial *977#.
  • Planned cuts can be added at short notice, and they sometimes end earlier or later than the time given.
