Women’s Premier League starts Saturday. Here is where Kibera Soccer Women stand.
The FKF Women's Premier League 2026/27 season starts on Saturday 19 September, six weeks late. All FKF leagues were held up by the Kariobangi Sharks court case over promotion and relegation rules, which ended with a High Court ruling on 28 August.
The fixture list problem
FKF's results platform still carries the calendar drawn up before the delay. It shows Kibera Soccer Women's first six matches on dates that have already passed: Shabana Starlets at home on 9 August, Elim Trans Nzoia White Ladies away on 16 August, Zetech Sparks at home on 23 August, Ulinzi Starlets away on 30 August, Gideon Starlets at home on 6 September and Kayole Starlets at home on 13 September. None was played.
The next fixture on the list is Trinity Starlets away on Sunday 20 September at 1pm at the Trinity Complex in Kikopey, followed by champions Kenya Police Bullets at home on 27 September, Mathare United Women away on 4 October, Vihiga Queens at home on 11 October and Bungoma Queens away on 18 October.
Until FKF publishes a revised calendar, treat the Trinity date as provisional. KNN will update this story when the opening fixture is confirmed.
Twelve teams, 22 rounds
The league has 12 teams this season: Kenya Police Bullets, Ulinzi Starlets, Kibera Soccer Women, Trinity Starlets, Vihiga Queens, Mathare United Women, Bungoma Queens, Kayole Starlets, Zetech Sparks, Gideon Starlets, Shabana Starlets and Elim Trans Nzoia White Ladies. Each team plays 22 matches, and the calendar runs to 24 January 2027.
Where Kibera start from
Third place last season, with 34 points from 10 wins, four draws and six defeats, 28 goals scored and 23 conceded. It was the club's best league finish.
"The most important thing is to improve our consistency because we saw what we were capable of once the players understood what we wanted," coach George Okallo said in August.
Goalkeeper Vivian Shiyonzo was in Kenya's squad for the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations; defender Mary Majeso made the provisional squad and forward Anna Arusi was called to a national mini-camp. Against Trinity, Kibera drew 0-0 twice last season.
