Kibera Soccer Women name Mary ‘Busu’ Adhiambo assistant coach and sign five players.
Kibera Soccer Women have appointed Mary "Busu" Adhiambo as assistant coach for the 2026/27 season. She will work under head coach George Bob Okallo.
"We are delighted to announce the appointment of Coach Mary Adhiambo 'Busu' as our new Assistant Coach ahead of the 2026/27 season," the club said in a statement. It called her "a true veteran of Kenyan women's football" with "over two decades of experience across the game – first as a player and later as a coach and mentor", and praised her "discipline, tactical intelligence, player development and calm leadership".
Who she is
Adhiambo played for Harambee Starlets from the 1990s into the 2000s, then moved into coaching. She was on the Starlets staff that qualified Kenya for the 2016 Africa Women Cup of Nations, coached Mathare United Women, and was most recently head coach of Kayole Starlets, whom she took up to the Women's Premier League. Earlier this year she led Kenya's under-15 girls to silver at the CAF African Schools Football Championship CECAFA qualifiers in Kigali.
The new players
The club announced five signings alongside her: Inviolata Mukosi from Fountain Gates in Tanzania, Christine Joy Ouka from Mombasa Olympic, Faith Muli from Zetech Sparks, Diana Cherono, and Uganda international Jauharah Nabaggala.
They come in after the departures of strikers Nelly Jonathan Kache and Eugine Linda in the off-season, and of captain Esse Akida, whose nine-month spell ended this month.
Kibera finished third in the Women's Premier League last season with 34 points, their best league finish yet, and won the FKF Women's Cup in 2025. The new league season starts this weekend.
